I am most touched an honored for your kind and warm welcome. Your words are really too kind. I am attempting to learn a little and I am sure you, Mark and Andrew, as well as everyone else will surely help. Coming from such a knowledgeable collector, your comment about my Kris humbles me. I couldn't help but buy it back in 2000. My collection is now much humbler. I have a Dha or Dharb I bought from a site that Andrew most kindly pointed out and a Large Kukhri. Here is the Dha ![]() I understand that there may be a connection between the falcata and the Kukri. The other day I was watching Alexander with my wife and when he had an ox and was talking and moving around the animal I told my wife: he is going to behead the ox. The Ghurka still do it. And he did just that. So I wonder for the Kukri is one of the most unlikely designs I have ever encountered. And of course it is not a belittling expression. Kindest regards

Thank you for your kind words of welcome. Actually I am in no position to discuss but to learn from you all. I certainly feel a great inclination to Ethnographic weapons in both an aesthetic point of view as well as a genuine expression of culture. I became a bit fed up with people wanting to define Art and Culture as static and authoritative forms of expression. Fortunately we are at a point in time where Art and Culture is being shaken in a healthy way. Today when in Macau we choose an Italian restaurant or a Thai restaurant we are indeed making a cultural choice, and of course the same applies everywhere, though I strongly reccomend Macanese cuisine. ![]() I'll try however to learn from you all before I dare engage into virtual discussions. He he, I may be one of the few guys who takes a "wake break" before getting back to sleep. Best regards Mark, and thank you for your warm welcome.
