From here. Rhino horn has a clearly fibrous structure. I think that there may have been a thread on it, and there was definitely and article.
Very outstanding piece! and very unusual. Another thread about a month ago showed something like this. |

Nice find Lew. This is an early type. probably mid to late 19 C. I have seen very few of those. Mine is without a scabbard but with the silver pommel cover. i will mail photos tomorrow. I think a similar one is shown in Elgood book but I do not have it in front of me now.

The jambiya arrived today and it's a beauty. The hilt turned out not to rhino but still a great piece

Hi All
