Mameluke saber, century i realy dont know?
blade is turkish ribbon, made with yalman, back of the blade is thicker i canot describe much better but i have few older turkish blades with that construction, it is not T back like a foot soliders kilijs from 18/19 century but diferent like a blade is big fuller and broadening on the back. Handle is ivory, mountings are gilt silver very nice work. If someone knows more, age, origin of the blade, etc. |

It is a really beautiful Ottoman sword with a Turkish ribbon blade - congratulations with a great addition to your collection!
The age, as you said already, 18-19 century. If there are any silver marks, then the fittings can be dated more exactly. |

Interesting how it has a Turkish ribbon blade but with the curvature of a western European mameluk blade (i.e. curving along the whole length of the blade rather than just the latter half).
