Yes Rick, a turtle and a snake
I have been trying to find info on this specific depiction ie:Standing on a turtle that seems to be fighting with a snake. I have found info on a Tortiose and an Elephant and other references to snakes but i am having a hard time with the Turtle and snake combination. Off I go to try some more |

I believe the Naga lives in the sea .
What you have in these sculptures are the basic tenets of Balinese Hindu mythology . A site on the Hindu religion would most likely be more enlightening than me . {Edit} As a matter of fact Alam Shah's link explains it quite nicely . No need for anything further from me on the subject .
