Rick Vikingsword Staff Join Date: Nov 2004 Posts: 6,344	Yes Tom, it is a joint , and yes , there is some kind of shim in the area between the langet and blade . What I find most exciting about this sword is that the blade could well date back to Cromwell's time and the English civil war .
