Origin of this dagger?

Any ideas on the place of origin of this dagger? It is 37.5 cm long, the tip broken and the blade filed down to give it a new point. Brass wire on the hilt perhaps a replacement?

The kris shown here was sold at auction a little while ago (not to me, alas), and I was most intrigued by the gold 'cage' around the ganja. Perhaps this is the right thread to throw it into?

Identification of kris hilt

Hallo Detlef

Yes, the wood is very like your intersting hilt, but not as clear - the surface on mine is rather worn. Do you know what wood it is?

Best wishes

Hallo Detlef

Many thanks for your suggestions. Yes, it is wood, striped horizontally with dark and light bands, impossible to see in the photos.
