Default A strange kalis ???

Hi all,
I bought recently the book "contribution a l'étude des armes orientales" by P. Holstein. In the Plate XLVII there is a strange "kalis of Sulu"; I never saw a similar one before (it looks to me it has a twisted core blade). Might someone tell me something more about this weapon ? (Sorry for the worst pic, but the catalogue is of the 1930).

Hi Paolo,

That one also has puzzled me.
I found another one, slightly resembling, in the Tropen picture archive.

These 2 "sabre kris" are neat high-end pieces! I've also seen plain single-edged kris and will try to post pics for reference.

Regards,
Kai
