Default Rentjong rencong from aceh/atjeh/sumatra

Nice old small rentjong from Aceh.

The blade is not laminated but based on the crack in the back should be locally forged.
The scabbard has some very fine carvings along the top half besides of course the usual carvings at the scabbard mouth and the bottom.

The handle is made from 2 pieces Akar Bahar (instead of the usual buffalo horn) these 2 pieces where connected together and the gap in between is filled with resin.

This type of hilt made of Akar bahar is rare, not to say very rare.
You will sooned find ivory hilts than this one.

Offers per e-mail please.
Direct sell at Usd 295 incl international mail.
