Lately i bought this Bali hilt (danganan); some age i.mo. and made of a very light wood. But the expression of the face and the body attracted my attention.
I know there is a lot of Hindu-influence with Bali hilts. So this hilt form probably represents a mystical creature from the mahabharata. Does someone know the name of this form / creature ? Could someone tell me what the meaning is of the position of the hands of this bali hilt ? |

Hello,
it's maybe Petruk (Bali name: Jaragan) but I am not pretty sure. Regards, Detlef |

I just get a hint that the figure have fangs. So it normally can't be Petruck since he is one of the "good" panakawans.
