PIHA KAETTA for sale

A very nice Piha Kaetta for sale on behalf of a good friend of mine. This is the national knife of Ceylon (Srilanka). Overall condition is good for age with some surface rust on the blade, which also shows some edge degradation from earlier rusting/wear. The handle is complete and undamaged, only missing 2 of the brass pins on one side only (complete on the other) which hold the end metal. All silver? inlay is present and undamaged, and the brass shows a very nice age patina. No attempt has been made to clean or polish, as it is felt that the new owner can make decision re this. The original wooden scabbard is in good condition but there are 2 areas where there is some damage, which I feel sure could easily be restored. There is a small chip out of one side near the mouth, and also on the tip at the top. It is not often that the scabbard is still to be found with these items. Overall length OUT of scabbard is 10 5/8" (263mm).
Asking US$520 or Euro375 including 1st Class Airmail postage worldwide.
