Hoi Hans,

The Scabbard and hilt looks indeed as a Sundang Malayu .
But the pamor and the marangi looks a little javanese...

Hullo everybody!

Reminds me of Sundangs made by a friend of mine in Kelantan. (Apparently his peers believe he is quite good as a panday, as he has received 'recognition'/'acknowledgement' from them). He sometimes chooses the wood for scabbard cross-pieces or toes which, without closer examination, makes them look like aged ivory. Very nice!

Yeah, measurements would be nice.

Definitely not Moro - not any part of it...

Amuk, could you please show an example or two of the work of your friend, please? (Possibly in another thread.)
