Old Keris

Hi,
First, I didn’t plan to remove de ukiran. The keris is in the Netherlands for 70 years and nobody has removed anything.
But I removed the handle today. It looks like an old pesi with human hair and this has almost become to dust.

A lovely keris, congratulations..
This keris have a separate ganja (not ganja iras).. the pamor does not flow continuously from the blade to the ganja..

The layering technique of the 'kul buntet' inlay looks more like a 'batu lapak' form, rather that the swirls of a kul buntet form..

Actually, we can't call this either kul buntet or batu lapak, it is simply pamor tambal, and my guess is that it has been done well after the time of completion of the blade.

I'm not calling it batu lapak.. I'm just making a comparison on the style of the layering works of the inlay..

If the inlay sat at the base of the blade, then I'll most definitely call it batu lapak.. In this case, pamor tambal is appropriate..

Yes, now by the close up picture I can see it also, pamor tambal.

Here are two of my picit keris, the left one with missing ganja and the right one is a keris putut, both blades are very thin.

I just take them, the first picture is from the keris putut, the other from the keris with missing ganja.
