Sometimes, this type of pendokok is made from a coin.. I've seen examples of it..

Selamat pagi all (9:49 am here in HK),

I will take better pics soon--terrible weather at this time of year. Hot, humid, and lots of rain. Pak Alam, you could be right--the metal looks like it might be a similar alloy to what you'd find in coins. The oversheath also looks like it is made of mixed metal, and it has darkened up much like the pendokok.

Your photos looked familiar, so I hunted through my 'collection'.
Here is one similar to yours (a gift from a friend who knows next to nothing about edged-weapons). It looks VERY recent (even the inside of the scabbard hasn't had time to collect any dust/dirt/grime.)

That does indeed look very much like mine. Do you think it might be a repro? I just checked the inside of my sheath with a flashlight. The throat is quite dirty/grimy, but the lower part (where the bilah rests) looks quite clean.
