Thank you Jens for the very interesting list. I still do not have 90% of books that you mention...

For those of you who would like to know some more about the historical background and influence, there are books like this.
Majumdar, R. C.: Suvarnadvipa – Hindu Colonies of the Far East. Vol. I-II. 1937. Cosmo Publications, reprint 2004. It is very interesting, and the author has also written a book about the Champa kingdom, but I don’t have this one yet. Sewell, Robert: A Forgotten Empire (Vijayanagar). Published 1900, reprint 2007. This one I hope to get within a few days, so I have not read it yet. One thing, which one must not forget is, that all authors on subjects like this, have used other books for reference, and a mistake made in one of the early books is likely to appear in one of the later books, so the texts should be analysed and compared to the knowledge the reader has, and with other sources. |

Hi Bally,
You know, just as I know, that the list is far longer than the one I have shown. It does however give an idea what to look fore. Depending in what directions ones interests goes ![]() Jens |

Jens,
I once read somewhere that when one collects arms, you should have 2 pounds weight of books for every 1 pound weight of metal! You have proved it right! Nidhi Last edited by olikara; 11th July 2009 at 03:30 PM. Reason: Fixed Typo |

![]() It is nice to hear from you ![]() No I don’t think I have two pounds of books to one pound of weapons, and I doubt that I have even pound to pound, but I feel quite sure that Anita would skin me, or at least consider it, if I had them 2:1 as you suggest. However, I agree, you can’t get enough books on the subject you collect. Most start to collect, and then buy a book now and again, but it should be the other way around. Buy a stack of books, read them, and start to collect – I too did it the wrong way ![]() Jens |
