Palembang as the others say, seems very right. More or less an HTML Code:
out of the book I would keep it more or less as it is. Maybe clean the farnisch of the scabbard and put on some wax. The handle. shame about the nose, but as detlef says, it shows its age and with such a patina I would not replace it. The blade. I don't like sumatra blades that are stained the javanese way. would suggest to clean it gently and put on some oil to preserve it. Very nice blade , gracefull. would suggest to clean it gently and put on some oil to preserve it. Very nice blade , gracefull. Sorry Willem, I think that special Palembang blades need a staining, the result can be very good. And I am nearly sure that this blade will show a nice pamor. All my Palembang blades have a very nice pamor. Here some examples. Sorry about the poor pics. Detlef |
