![]() But while our Aljubarrota barrels are still of the Romanesque rounded form, this one has yet adapted the octagonal Gothic style and should, in my opinion, be correctly dated ca. 1400 to early 15th century - just like the Berne gun. Michael |

The Berne gun, ca. 1400 to early 15th c., the hook an addition of ca. 1430-40.
Preserved at the Historisches Museum Bern, Switzerland. |
