The tombak blade material, I like. But somehow as Rick had mentioned the flow of the luks, seems awkward.. Looking at the close-up pics, there is a possibility of a shortened blade as the blade is pointing sideways..

Yes, the surface near the tip looks different than the rest of the spear (no pitting) .
This may have been reshaped at some point . I think it has real age . |

That is my feeling too. From the 3rd luk the blade becomes narrower. The pamor follows the luks, but not as good as at the base. But I liked the fittings (scabbard / handle) and the overall appearance. Any suggestions on the style of the handle/scabbard ? Best regards, Willem |

This looks like a fairly standard contemporary dress for this old tombak . ![]() Here is another style of decoration; I don't know if these styles are regional or not . ![]() ![]() I could suggest that the carved drag on the bottom of your scabbard reminds me of some Madura scabbards . ![]() |
