Thank you for the comments gentlemen. Fortunately, I had some good tools to work with. Belt sander, band saw, drill press, buffer, etc. It gave me tremendous respect for the craftsmen who did all of this by hand. What skill they must have had.

Very nice job.
The wood colour is perfect. I have something similar to do on a javanese pedang. But both my wife and the neigbours are not to fond of the sound of the belt sander in the evening.  Maybe on a sunny saterday afternoon, now the weather is improving. Willem |
