How much far one can go with the restoration?

IMO it's fine; I'd even darken up the overwrap a bit .
Are you having second thoughts ?

Hi Rick,

I was thinking that maybe I have esagerated when I have added also the red rope... You know that if you believe that the rope is like an amulet, well in this case is really a non-sense to put the rope, but I have done this because another explanation, as Cato says, is that this pieces of rope were used also to assure a better grip...
About the overwrap is just a bit clearer than the wrap under, just the flash do not show the real color

Hi Flavio, great job on the rattan wrap! What a difference rattan makes...the sword looks naked with out it!

Where did you get the rattan strips?
