Hi Willem,

Tromp left a collection unused wooden hilt models to the RMV in Leiden.
They seems to be models and maybe he ordered a woodcarver to carve them they are quite patinaless.
I think your handle is maybe also a model.
There are also blade models in wood in the RMV.

I don't have that model yet in my collection!

What you mean to look at it is newly carved !!!

If you cannot see it at least you know where to go too .

First you say it is a stopper for a bamboo tube.
Now you assume it is newly carved.

I don't know, bought it on a militairy arms fair approx 10 years ago.

This I do'nt know either Ben. I never been to Bali, but you visit there quite frequently. Funny, never would have guessed that Bali is the place to buy Borneo art. Would not be the real thing would it ?
