A Batu Lapak at the forte ?
![]() There has also been some discussion on the form of these pommels; a hidden Makara or simply a foliate/vegetive(?) design ? ![]() This is a nice variation . |

Very nice old hit.
In the middle it would be horn. On the top? Wood? IMO seems a fish (?) eating another fish(?) that eating another little fish....the same of russian Matrijoska |

This one is quite tricky (fishy?).
Some of the hilts of resembling swords collected in the area around Minangkabau have a hilt variation that reminds me of this one. Instead of the Palembang Makara hilt the have a more obvious floral look, like a sprouting bud. Michael |
