Gun lock with a bizarre system

I think I would get that barreled and turned into a full rifle if that was mine.

Cap guns for big boys

Personally, I'd want to find out if modern cap strips work to ignite black powder before I'd rebuild a gun around a lock like this.

Otherwise, you've got to make the ignition strips too, and that just gets annoying.

Good thing that the dentist found another use for his patent. Reminds me of the history of air rifles
