Gene,

My first impression is Greek or Turkish. Maybe Balkan area. I think you have to look in that region.
Although hard to judge from a picture, it looks as a verry nice knife.

I have two items of the very same construction. The knife I have has an ivory handle and a steel bolster all in the same form of the wood handle in the example shown. My items are certianly Asian, Northern India? when I can I will add pics.

Thanks for the replys I am as always prepared to be proven wrong ;-)

The Oak handle and simple decoration feel european (english) to me......
LOL, I have been wrong before though! Please keep the thoughts and ideas coming.

It's such a sweet little knife, I do sometimes like the 'simple' honest working mans pieces, and often they are the hardest to find.
