I had my eye on that one but I decided to pass it up. While looking at the area. I have this piece 180mm longer than the example in the PittRivers link. I also believe the one I have is from much earlier in the 20th century if not older especially when viewing the magnified images.

Just had a few thoughts about this last stick and the one collected in the 1970s and donated by John mack to the Pitt Rivers. We are all aware of the vulnerability of wood in Africa. However some objects might not get neglected to the termites, granddads stick might be in the hallway as in our homes and regulary handled and kept safe from harm, just like us. Sold when need be.
