Nice one Flavio!
I was watching an almost identical one on ebay a week ago (http://cgi.ebay.ca/KORDOFAN-DAGGER_W...QQcmdZViewItem). The seller said it was from Kordofan (Sudan) and that he had seen them made there in the 1960s. Bladesmiths and hilt makers were in the same spot and customers could pick and mix blades with fittings as they wanted. Can anyone corroborate this? All the best, Emanuel |

Hello Emanuel,
the seller says that the dagger is from 1850 "1850 fully documented African dagger , lovely detail on handle and sheaf , and blade is in an uncleaned state as is the rest of the knife , comes with receipt of date of purchase , great condition" but who knows for sure the one you post is quite similar..... Maybe a vintage souvenir but seems well made.... like the Tjikerohoe goloks from indonesia.... Now I'm very very curious to see this "receipt".... Regards Flavio
