Yep, I'm green with envy. Good piece, Tim.
I especially like the nails on the bottom of the handle. These are mostly found on older pieces. I found a pic in a book on sickle knives. According to my (humble) opinion, your 'trumbash' resembles the knife on the bottom left (n° 71). Here is the pic : ![]() And what about a piece I recently found in a shop in Brussels. It's quite small (total length only 19cm). It looks a bit like the one on the bottom right corner. There's only 1 nail for decoration. The former owner was probably saving for more.

My next book with Danny De Waele will be on Mangbetu sickle knife & daggers, we have one like yours with copper wires around the handle and mails at the bottom. Luc |
