Good points, David.
I look at sellers' FB by checking items they sold. You can check, all FB, Sold FB or Purchased FB. This give a better picture. I have 7 FB as a seller 1000 as a buyer 1597 overall, including people I bought from more than once I have been a member since 2001. Ebay also only counts one FB per seller. I think this is changing. I like Paypal. I have heard some nightmares, but they have been good to me. We all know some of the horror stories about sending wire transfers, Western Union, etc. Ebay has a lot of flaws but I have only been screwed twice in 1597 transactions. Not too bad a track record. But I have been hit with a lot of recent fake emails that appeared to come from eBay and didn't. People opening disputes against me for unpaid items. People I never bid with. People telling me that they were opening a dispute becasue I they paid me and I didn't ship. Alos people I never heard of. They include a link that I never click on. I just forward to spoof@ebay.com and I get nice letters from eBay saying that these were "Spoof" or "Phishing" emails and thanking me for letting them know and "appropriate action" was being taken. A friend forwards the following picture every time he can, including the Nigerian money scams.Says he gets some really funny replies complaining about how they are so hurt by his picture. |
