Finally got this and given it a brush up and acting on good advice I have decided that this is enough. I cannot call it rough and ready as essentially it is the same forged form as the fine example Luc shows with engraved decoration. More a grotesque, forged on a rough anvil {marks to both sides, is that deliberate?}with sharp ground edges ready for use. Its raw basic energy appeals to me a lot. I am really pleased with it. Seems to be a good, older piece. I see some pitting, but what do you want in the Central African climate.
