They look like quality minitures Michel, I'd love to see a close up of the weapons. CourseEight, I can't get the link up, maybe just my computer?
thanks Gav Last edited by freebooter; 9th February 2008 at 12:53 AM. Reason: spelling |

Really accurate blade forms I think we should all allow for considerable 'artistic interpretation' in the representations shown on these boards .

Nope, the image is gone. I got it off of a google image search. Sorry I didn't save it! I have one of these (with fewer weapons on it) and I agree, I'm not going to be using this for the "definition" of anything.
Found another: http://cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...6075&indexURL= Different layout but that one's version of a "banjal" is in the lower left. Roughly the same as the other one I posted, but you can see how some of them differ from plaque to plaque... Last edited by CourseEight; 9th February 2008 at 02:12 AM. |

An old one, similar to the one in Cato. Probably same vintage.
Was sold to me as being the one in Cato. When it arrived, close examination shows it is similar to the point of possibly having been made in the same shop, but not in Cato's book. Seller would not refund/return -- we don't do business anymore. Bone handles. 18" high. |

Hi Bill, the one you show is very nice and old (bone handles): the shapes are very similar to the real weapons and not as the modern ones that show some weapons never seen before and name never hearing before.

A nice array of miniture weapons none the less Bill. Thanks for the new link too CourseEight. I am enjoying viewing the differing display board, please show em if you got em guys.
I understand what you are saying about accuracy in portrayal of these weapon not being 100% Rick, but alas I feel, as I think you do too, even the stylized minitures on the different weapons boards do give the ability for one to identify the weapon in real life even with "artistic license" keep em coming guys Gav |

Well, here they come. Most are with bone handle, except the keris in the center and the the one bottom left (keris Sundang) for which I had to make new handles as they had lost the originals one. Not all but a few of these micro weapons have a name stamped on the blade. Very difficult to see. Hope that my photos are good enough for you to see Regards Michel |

Very nice. The kris (third from the end) looks like they were representing a twist core blade.
Mine have writing on the blades also. Will see if I can photograph it. |

No the blade is rough only, no tentative, as I see it to show a twist core blade.
All blades are from flat metal (2.5 mm thick), (as if stamped) not forged. except that very blade which is much rougher than all the others. The shapes are then filed to give the edge. Most of the work is in the handles. As these are miniatures it is really difficult work to do. Regards Michel |

How very interesting these miniture display weapons are becoming, very nice craftsmanship and patina displayed in both boards. I can now appreciate the interest some colectors have in miniture weapons of the world. Nice job on your handle creations too Michel.
Does anyone have any other miniture display boards out there that they would like to share, I know i'd be interested in seeing more from any region of the world. Gav |

From the handle and mendak it looks more Javanese. |

The original one had disappeared and I was not too sure how a philipino handle should look with what looked like a javanese blade ! You have good eyes Bill. Michel |
