)This is a double execution sword from Congo. It can be attributed to the following tribes : NGOMBE, DOKO. There are quite some variations on the same design. This slender form is more a parade or dance knife, than a real weapon. According to Christian Gosseau in the book execution knives and derivatives (Tribal Arms Monographs, vol 1/n°2 - 1997) this type of knife was also used by the Konda and the tribes round lake Leopold II) |
