Hi,

I finally managed to get some pictures. It's not my keris, that's why I didn't have some.

Pretty bad condition, hope the pictures help. I don't think it's possible to say something about the place or date of manufacture, is it?

Thank you all.
Peter

Default Beras Wutah

Hi Peter,

If the blade is stained in warangan liquid, then the pamor would be beras wutah. The lines in the border of the blade, are the layers of the keris' metal. They are not the pamor. The dapur of the keris is tilamupih, and typically Tuban keris. I can not tell you the tangguh, based on only pictures. But, I guess it was "Tuban Mataram" (Tuban type keris, but was made during Mataram era). Of course, I maybe wrong... At least, that's my guess.

Hi ganjawulung!

Thank you very much for your opinion. So this keris could date to the 14th - 16th century?

And why is the dapur not brojol? Thought it looked exactly like this.

Thanks again,
Peter

Dear Peter,

Between dapur tilampupih and brojol is "slightly" different. And the difference lies on the "ricikan" or details of the blade. If your straight keris has a "tikel alis" (Cahaya, If you don't mind, would you draw the "tikel alis" for me, on Peter's picture please...). But if without tikel alis, then your keris is brojol.
