the groove lines do not seem quite straight enougth for that but I could be wrong. European blade would stilll be correct just not the norm. Is there any lamination on blade can't tell from pics.

Stefan of Ashoka arts says that the blade is probably of the British 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Sword.
