I agree with Rick, i think these old Dutch soldier souvieners are very collectible just from the historical aspect. I would eventually like to find a prime example for my collection. The dress looks a little better that the usual for these types, but not as high end as i have seen. The worst part about your purchace for me is the missing gonjo.

Better than the pieces I see coming up now and then here in Holland and the mendak is replaceable. In my opinion, but I'm Dutch, every keris collection should have such a keris because it fits in a category. that of the historical aspect. These keris where made for the dutch soldiers in those days. And, but it is guessing, the gonjo could have been missing since the keris became his present look. |
