I think that the offset handle and the wider blade at the distal end would make the balance 'top heavy' like an axe..so I think this unlikely to be used as a 'sword'.....definately a 'chopper'.....with the angle of the hilt set in such a way that a downward strike being the most favourable technique.

			A very nice object....and ..I feel....bought at a bargain price

More Malabar, than an Adya Katti, but you know, the line between the two types is thin...

I've bid on that as well (in fact I've thought thatone to be a sleeper), but got slightly overbid... Congratulations to the buyer, You've got a very nice piece! Last edited by Valjhun; 19th December 2006 at 10:20 PM. Reason: mistake |

Very unusual for a weapon to have this many variants........

There's ones with forward curves, with backward swept blades, ones with sickle-like ricassos, and some with plain handles that look suspiciously Moro.... The floor is open. |

Well, Joe, there really is nothing Moro about this, though you have a good point about so many variants.

Arrived today. An absolute POS! (Piece Of S***)

Asking for a refund. Totally tourist junk! Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you. |
