Found this piece a couple of days ago. The seller said it came from Belgian Congo, but that's all he could tell me.
It's a kind of 'Swiss tool' African style. The piece consists of : 1 knife, 10,5 cm long 1 earspoon (?), 11 cm 1 pair of tweezers, 10 cm 1 slim, pointed piece of metal, 10,5 cm 1 sharp needle-like piece, 10 cm All these 'tools' are kept together by a metal loop. I'm not sure what metal it's made of. The piece is decorated with geometrical designs. Anyone an idea ? ![]() |

To me it looks much more like work from further north. The Sahel and Sahara? maybe even Tuareg. It just does not look Congo to me. Nice thing.

I agree with Tim......and Taureg doesn't seem 'wide of the mark' ....interesting item, ....perhaps for personal use ...or a 'tool kit' for a camel

This looks very much like a tabacco pipe cleaning set, mostly with only 3 tools, maybe yours is an extended version ![]() Other possibility is a traveling manicure set... ![]() I found this picture on the web of a tabacco cleaning set |
