Default Help identify knife

Malay archipelago is as close as I can locate; other more knowledgeable will refine.

Nice carving on the bone hilt. The decoration on the blade is not something I've seen, but reminiscent of the acid-etching of the Mahdi-era Sudan knives with the pseudo-Arabic script. I'm not at all sure that that was the technique used in this example, though.

That's all I've got. Some of it may even be accurate.

Looks like a monk Thai Mit/Meed Mor knife, Southern Thai, North Malay or even Southern Cambodia. Somewhat unusual knife since there isn't a prayer pictured. My best guess!

Well maybe you are right , but it looks that way to me, the decoration is embossed...applied to the blade
