PERHAPS A LITTLE BACKGROUND WOULD HELP. ONE OF THE MORE FAMOUS CONTEMPORARY DESIGNERS OF KNIVES AND SWORDS IN A TYPE OFTEN CALLED FANTASY SWORDS AND KNIVES IS GIL HIBBEN. THIS BRONZE AGE SWORD IS IN THAT STYLE SO I WAS SAYING THAT GIL HIBBEN MUST HAVE LIVED IN CHINA 2300 YEARS AGO AND SUCH A SWORD WAS PERHAPS PROOF OF REINCARNATION. I WAS JUST JOKEING, I HAVE SEEN MANY FANTASY KNIVES COMMING OUT OF CHINA FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS BUT HAD NOT SEEN A BRONZE EXAMPLE SAID TO BE FROM THAT PERIOD SO THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE A LITTLE FUN

I ALSO HAVE NOTHING AGAINST GIL HIBBEN AND LIKE SOME OF HIS WORK AND EVEN HAVE ONE OF HIS SIGNED KNIVES IN MY COLLECTION. I AM SURE I WOULD HAVE LOVED THEM WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER IF THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE. SOME ARE QUITE SHOWY AND FIERCE LOOKING BUT NOT VERY FUNCTIONAL AND SOME ARE FUNCTIONAL BUT STILL HAVE FANTASY INFLUENCES AND NEW DESIGNS.
