Wow! Very nice Xas. A complete ensemble. Was the pattern on the blade discernible when you first laid eyes on it or was it a surprise to you.
Funny how these type, chevron patterned blades are showing up. Charles posted one not too long ago, now this. Thanks for sharing. |

Congrats, interesting Sulu blade and I especially like the hilt, too!
I'd posit that this is a twistcore blade (i.e. torsion pattern welding) that has been flattened out to cover the actual steel core and only a little bit of the surface got grinded away for the finishing of the blade. Could you please provide more close-ups, also from the distal part of the blade, Xas? Regards, Kai |

Thanks for the assessment! Unfortunately I can only provide cellphone pictures...difficult to capture some of the lines as there's a "reflector" effect due to some nickel in the mix I think.
