Nice blade, I think this is an older example (due to the leather work too), however, I would like to point out that the "guard" (for lack of a better term) seems to be missing.

In addition to Lew's collection, you can find two other important collections online, where you can see lots of photographs of African swords and knives as well as interesting information:

Although the Tebu , or Toubou are to be found in NW Sudan , they are more commonly associated with inhabiting northern Chad, southern Libya & northeastern Niger .

one recent from Chad 1970ties
and the old one from Sudan, but I think it's from Chad too...
