In context with the Portuguese arriving for the first time in Japan in 1453, in the island of Tanegashima, where the local lord purchased from them a couple matchlock guns, giving place to a great expansion of such armament ...

Some time ago the Japanese postal services issued a stamp commerating the 450 years of the Portuguese arrival in their lands. Would there be a member able to translate the inscription in such stamp. Any connection to the historic matchlock introduction ?. Thank you in advance. . |

This is a Portuguese (Macau) stamp version connected to the arrival. The Portuguese Diogo Zeimoto teaching the local Lord's son how to shoot the "Teppõ".
