Cabasset and breastplate

Sorry to play the stubborn Thomas; i had the firm idea that such detail is not an infantry/cavalry dual option but that it is so designed to prevent the breastplate not to conflict with the horse saddle .. if i make myself understood. Does the caption of the example at the zeughaus altes museum mention that is for infantry ... or cavalry ?

I don't know, but I think you're right. I had never thought about this detail, but it is consistent.
