I will try to make a clear picture of the illustration. But it is rather similar as the picture Spiral posted.

Spiral, Berkley,

I made a picture of the book from the drawings. I have two books of Wood in dutch, so these are translated. Next to those two books I have four books also in dutch by Dr. H. Blink. These four books where published arround 1890 by Elsevier in Amsterdam. These books are look alikes of the books of Wood. Some minor differences but I'm afraid 200 years ago coppying and not telling the source was no problem at all. The pictures are from the book from Blink but identically to the books of Wood.

Well Henk, I spend a lot of time studying kukri & perhaps will publish some my research & conclusians in the futre. So your picture is just another little titbit in the picture of evidence..

The style looks rather like some kukris apparently provinaced to the Indian mutiny period. But I am certain from known examples that the design has been round for much longer than that. {Obviously earlier designs can be copied at a later date. Although often other give aways often show up.}

I tend to regard it as probably a transitional stage between the lambendh & the Sirupati styles.
