Hello Henk,

Thats most informative, Thankyou! I wish I could read Dutch!

Is there any possibility of obtaining of taking & emailing me scans of the relevant drawings/ingravings from your books? They would be most interesting for me to see.

My email is spiraltwista@aol.com

Either way, many thanks,

Spiral

Henk, if there is any way you could scan those illustrations and post them on the forum I know we would all find them highly informative. I don't think there would be any copyright problem, given the age of the source material. Thanks.

I will try to make a clear picture of the illustration. But it is rather similar as the picture Spiral posted.

Spiral, Berkley,

I made a picture of the book from the drawings. I have two books of Wood in dutch, so these are translated. Next to those two books I have four books also in dutch by Dr. H. Blink. These four books where published arround 1890 by Elsevier in Amsterdam. These books are look alikes of the books of Wood. Some minor differences but I'm afraid 200 years ago coppying and not telling the source was no problem at all. The pictures are from the book from Blink but identically to the books of Wood.
