Default Russian hunting knife for comments

I recently won in an auction the Russian imperial hunting knife in the photos below.

Any comments are welcomed!

My antennae are twitching....
The industry of fake antiques in general and bladed weapons in particular in Russia takes second place only to oil/gas.

The origin and the date on the spine look to me very modern: they are clumsy, crude and the script is modern.
Overall condition is far too good for a 100 y.o. thing.
Blade profile and decorations are very “international modern”.

Just IMHO.

If I were you, I'd ask for the money back.

I tend to agree with all the above comments , 'international modern' is a very apt description of the blade type by Ariel , I have encountered blades of this type imported from India for amateur knife making hobbyists in England , by a dealer in the Midlands . The inscription on the spine looks as though it was done with an electric pencil !

Thank you very much for your comments!
I also suspected something fishy when I saw the condition of the knife.
