I have seen similar khanjars on OmaniSilver.com dated to the 19th century, but then even Artzi refrained from putting a date on a very similar khanjar he sold recently, so age, especially in terms of exact decade, could be up for debate. What is more important to me is that this one definitely has some age.

I agree that the important point is this weapon has some age and I would be happy to contend that late 19th early 20th was on target and happy with that bracket. This style will wear a lot more than the all silver item since we are considering cord below the belt which wears much faster as does the cloth belt which looks original. the other aspect is in deciding exactly when to date the beginning of the style ...which is almost half way through the 19thC 1830 / 1840. the other impossible trick is to see if parts have been replaced..in this case I think not...although maybe the crown has been changed?
