Don't Spanish stirups tend to be closed ended and boot or shoe shaped to some degree?

Versions with the front closed were also seen in Portuguese stirrups, and still are used nowadays.
Cross culture between both (Iberian) countries and versions timeline to be considered.

Well it was a good guess based on a past encounter with a very similar item.
