ariel Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Ann Arbor, MI Posts: 5,503	Very interesting! A variation of the pattern welded blade. I also recall Anne Feuerbach's paper about North Caucasian production of crucible steel, a real wootz. Those old cutlers were much more sophisticated than we imagine.
