Sabre 18th - 19th centuries

I noticed the squarish quillon cap, jutting straight out from the guard and was reminded of how similar to French grenadier infantry swords. The sword is badly worn, but the general pattern, rear facing langets, short curved blade and half backed hilt, all of bronze, are similar. I think the key to identifying this item is the straight quillon with cap...I don't know if Polish patterns copied this style?

It looks to me like an Austrian grenadier’s sabre from the second half of the 1760s? The entire sword should be 71.5cm long and the blade @4cm broad.

I hope the measurements will add clarity to the identification of the saber. Overall length 70 cm, blade width 32 mm

In 1765 the Austrian sabre issued to grenadiers and NCOs had a 58cm blade with brass hilt and knuckle guard. In 1777 the blade length was increased to 67cm. Prima Plana ranks had a lionhead pommel.
