No. 1 is a mainland SEA work knife. Could be Lao/Cambodian/Vietnamese. We see these online quite frequently, often via returning U.S. servicemen, and dating to the 1960's and 1970's. As Colin noted, this is an ethnographic piece used within the culture, not made as a tourist piece. No. 2 is a decorative, but probably functional, mid-20th C Burmese dha No. 3 is not Filipino IMO. Could be Thai, but more likely Indonesian. No. 4 is copied from a Japanese tanto and I agree with Piege that it is most likely Chinese. Ian Last edited by Ian; 13th February 2018 at 09:10 PM. |
