Hi Stelio.

Yes, I agree with others here. Ottoman for sure. You see similar patterns using gold or silver thread on the leather holsters (the correct name escapes me at the moment) used to carry the horse pistols.
That's a very nice pouch used to carry pre-made combustable cartridges. The curve of the box I believe stems from a European design, with the curve making it easier to carry on the right or left side of the waist area.
A very nice and seldom encountered example for your collection. Congratulations.
